Selfies are great. I think everybody should take as many and as often. See that selfie you took just now.. that exact same moment has come to pass and it’s now gone. Forever. But you managed to capture it thanks to the magic of light, and in the years ahead, if you ever find the need reconnect with that version of you, you’ll know exactly where to find it.
So we’re already at the second half of the year (wow right?) and I’m really happy with how things are at work right now.
You know how some days you feel like you’re king of the world (yes–king, not queen. I’m always queen) and other days you just feel.. nothing… for no apparent reason?
Professor Severus Snape was my absolute favorite Harry Potter character ever and I too was deeply saddened hearing news of Alan Rickman, the person who brought him to life with such beautiful complexity, dying from cancer in the morning of January 14. Rickman was considered a giant in British theater and film, greatly loved and admired, and described by those who’ve known him as a kind and generous soul.
Lately I’ve been trying to practice my Resting Bitch Face because, you know, ~wrinkles~. I’m not really sure as to the effectiveness of this “plan” or for how long I can keep it up, but one thing I know is that it’s a lot harder than it sounds!
It’s a bright new year and while I may still not be ready for Monday (because really, who is ever ready?) I couldn’t be more ready to own 2016. Things I’m excited about include what could possibly be the biggest thing to happen to my career *fingers crossed*; my brother’s wedding in May, which I’m coordinating, and more opportunities to travel.
